How to Eat Issue Four: Preparation Of Food (Aka LOVE)

So this is how the story goes.....

“Delicious meal, thank you, Old Girl”

The words of Farmer Zac himself – to me.

Yes! To me!

Isn’t he funny, I mean – Old Girl?

I am younger than him, you know?

He’s called me old girl ever since we met, which means by the time I die, I would have spent a lot of time being an Old Girl.

Anyway, back to the story...........

Zac will tell me all the time how good the meal we just ate tasted. And with that he ends with “you can taste the love”.

And isn’t that the truth, right! You can, 100%, without a doubt, taste the love someone puts into preparing the food.

And this is precisely what we are talking about today – preparation of food.

But not the usual stuff, like chopping, and peeling, and storage, and stuff.

Instead, we are talking about pure love, baby. Now isn’t that exciting. And juicy!

I am in love with the love that goes into food. Are you? I know you feel me on this one.

And so do many other people. I know this because, while reading my Ayurvedic texts (which I am happily obsessed with by the way) I came across a whole section talking about how the energy of the person cooking the food really matters.

And I think I teared up, and my heart kinda exploded.

I mean, I have always thought that – that the love matters, like really, really matters. But then to read it in a book, a book of science that is over 5,000 years old, and how it is actually a thing, well – that got me excited!

And really, that kinda sums me up and what I am all about. It is why I talk about bringing the joy back into food. Because it really does matter.

Food should be cooked with love. Because when it is, the person receiving it, will be nourished, mind, body and soul.

Because.

Because if food is prepared with another kind of emotion, the people receiving the food will be nourished by the vitamins etc, but their mind, emotions and basic vitality will not be. When food is cooked with love, the energy of the cook passes into the food and the energy of the food is enhanced.

Which means…. The subtle link that binds the soul to the mind-emotions and the body is nourished – creating one happy-ass human being.

And important to point out, if the person cooking is in another state than the reverse is true.

And this is how it happens.

When we heat food we transform it to make it easier to digest and it is in this process that the emotions of the cook ooze out into that transformation. Furthermore, the hands of the cook, as they touch the produce, will fuse their love into the produce, as well!

It is all one big fusion of love and food and that my friends, is how life is meant to be.

So while we fuss about which shape to cut the carrots in, sticks or circles or skinny-ass toothpick sticks (what are they called again?) let’s just remember the real, actual point here…. Love. It is all about the LOVE.

If you put your love, your genuine, I-wanna-cook-this-meal-with-love love into your meal, then you are truely living. And your dish is gonna taste deee-lish. And it is as simplae as that.

Wasn’t that a fun issue?

Probably my favourite so far. Next up is Order of Food, and we will discover that some common things we are doing could be starting some major unrest in our digestive system. All easily fixed though, so I look forward to getting down to some facts next time.
