Spring Lakes Farm is a small family owned certified organic farming business situated in the Lockyer Valley of QLD.

We are Zac and Anika - a young couple who left the comfort of our seemingly perfect life in Perth, Western Australia, to navigate a life as certified organic farmers in 2013. A radical decision based on an intuitive desire following the death of Anika’s mother to live life fully, contribute to the world in some small way and escape the stability of a healthy income, city lights and a nice home Why?

Because we craved wide open spaces. We wanted work freedom. We wanted a challenge. And Zac wanted to explore his roots as a farmer, following in the footsteps of his late father.

 
 

Spring Lakes Farm has given and taken from us more than we could have ever imagined. But here we are, seven years into this farming business with a port-a-loo outside our make shift home, a dog that snores like a human, and two thriving kids forever covered in dirt, giving it our all.

The choice to grow organically was based on an intrinsic aversion to using chemicals to produce food. Through trial, a lot of error and experience, by listening intently to the wisdom of the land and responding with care and love, our alignment to this decision grows stronger every day. We’ve learnt that the Earth thrives in the right conditions, just like we do. When we tend to the land and our bodies with mindful and wholesome consideration, we create a harmonious environment that thrives.  

We tend to our land and plants with a team of hard working people that see our vision with clarity and honour the earth the way we intend. You’ll find us bare footed tending to the land most days with our kids roaming free, covered in dirt.
